Oxford International Go Skateboarding Day

The event started at eleven with the street jam so we heading out at about two and pulled into oxford in the pouring down rain. Everyone met under the pavillion at the oxford skatepark and tried waiting out the rain. The rain came to a hault after a few hours so me and a few skaters tried to clean the drains in the bowl and street course to get it dry before consolidated pro. Steve Bailey got to the park. The shallow was almost dry when the big man pulled the plug on the rain again. Event had to cancel so the dudes that came from outta town and Steve Bailey himself went to Mike Rains's sisters farm and instantly a pool session began. After a belly flop contest and a few crazy antics everyone got outta the pool and dried off. A few guys including myself went back into town to catch a chinese buffet and caught a quick sesh at the park which had finally dried up before heading back to camp. Drinking beers by the fire and telling stories and amazing Steve with his second encounter with fire flies lasting until about three when everyone crashed out. Early on sunday we hit Horn Lake where we decided to take a trip out to the fullpipes in Iuka and Steve was totally down. Got a few shots in oxford heading to tupelo and streched our legs with Nate Perkins before heading to the pipes. Pulled into Iuka and skated their crappy park before we hit the pipes. We parked one car next to the lake and piled up six deep in a car which we parked outside the NASA facilty and after a few quick minutes of cleaning out the pipe we had a session on our hands. Epic sesh and we got outta there almost scott free. Cops hassled us for a bit but eventually they let us go. Well be re-doing the Go skate day event for sometime in September. thanks to Steve Bailey and Mike Rains for making this an epic weekend. and the sponsors of this event that was cancelled
